The brief

The plan was to add a bar island with seating in the middle of the U. The built-in oven and microwave were to share a tall unit, and glassware needed a lit display column.

What we did

Matte greige handleless fronts with black grip profiles meet a slim black stone-look worktop. The island’s black top wraps down its sides in a waterfall edge, with velvet bar stools in front and a sculptural gold LED pendant above. A floor-to-ceiling black-framed smoked-glass display column is lit by an LED line; the microwave sits above the oven in a greige tall unit, an induction hob and a black sink under the window complete the working run, and a pull-out dish rack hides behind one of the fronts.
